We've interviewed the cast so you can get to know them better. Meet Evan Spreen!
Tell us briefly about your work as an artist.
I’ve been involved in theater my entire life. A member of theatrical communities in Texas, Poland, and now Japan. Usually as an Actor, but I’ve recently been writing for the stage as well.
What is your role in Disturbance?
I play Tony. The husband of Jane and father of Tom and Hannah.
What attracts you about ‘Disturbance’?
It’s a very challenging project and that is what attracts me the most to it. To be able to approach this project with a sensitivity to the subject matter while also portraying a very disturbed individual has been a journey. Finding the connections in the source poetry and then putting those intentions and emotions into the music has been very rewarding. In rehearsals there have been these moments where things really start to become powerful and moving and that’s only been possible through the talented members of this particular cast.
What are some of your favourite staged performances you’ve ever seen or been in?
I like stuff that’s out of the box. I like theater to challenge the audience just as much as the performers. My all-time favorite show is Rocky Horror. I’ve performed it five times and I’m itching to do it again!
Anything else you want to tell us about?
My best friend and roommate Steven has a cameo in the show. See if you can spot him!
